After coming across the series of books recently in some boxes, I’ve started re-reading the Belgariad by David Eddings. My last Friday 56 featured the second book, Queen of Sorcery. Predictably, this post is all about book three, Magician’s Gambit.
Her Imperial Highness, Princess Ce’Nedra, jewel of the House of Borune and the loveliest flower of the Tolnedran Empire, sat cross-legged on a sea chest in the oak-beamed cabin beneath the stern of Captain Greldik’s ship, nibbling thoughtfully on the end of a tendril of her coppery hair as she watched the Lady Polgara attend to the broken arm of Belgarath the Sorcerer.
‘There aren’t really that many of them.’
‘Never mind, Hettar,’ Wolf told him. ‘Silk,’ he called ahead, ‘there are some Murgos coming toward us from the west. Warn the others and find us all a place to hide.’
Silk nodded curtly and galloped forward.
