It’s a beautiful sunny winter morning, so this song perfectly suited my mood… a cover of the Proclaimer’s song, 500 Miles done by Sleeping At Last.
The original version seems like summer in comparison to this, which just has a very wintery feel to it. A lovely crescendo partway through reminds me of the positive shift from winter to spring. It is a completely unexpected take on this well-known song, but takes on an entirely different identity making it incredibly unique.
That’s one thing I love about Sleeping At Last – their songs have a purity that is difficult to match and very easy to appreciate.
