I just had to share this piece of music by Fox Amoore, it’s so lovely. Flow has such a sweet sound, uplifting feel and, as the name would suggest, a flowing melody. Listening to the nuances of this piano score is a definite pleasure and I adore the strong finish, the first time any other instruments are introduced.

Another reason that Fox Amoore is one of my favourite Soundcloud artists is the artwork. Alector Fencer did the artwork for Flow and I feel that the magical art compliments the music precisely.

New Music: Runes Configure

The other day I started composing again for the first time in months. I was sort of playing around with this score, more than anything else, but it turned out quite interesting. It’s up on Soundcloud, if you fancy a listen (embed below).

Usually I start by thinking of the main theme and thread other parts into and around it to make something big and flowing. This time though, the theme came later, almost as an afterthought as the various parts of the score blended together. I was hoping to create a piece of music with energy and purpose, so the result is fairly near what I was aiming for.

Runes Configure is quite a short piece of music compared to my normal compositions, so I imagine it would be ideal for trailer music or advertising.

Does anyone else have any new music they would like to share?

Recently I saw one of the trailers for the new Cinderella film, which featured this amazing piece of music. I have come across Nick Murray’s music before and enjoyed it, but Aeon, from the album of the same title, is simply gorgeous. It’s a very uplifting piece of music and the vocals from Juliet Lyons are fantastic.

This week I searched under soundtrack music on Soundcloud and found this awesome trailer music. Angels of Destiny has amazing energy and a vivid impression of movement, which I love.

The artist is actually Really Slow Motion, a favourite of mine already, but the Soundcloud user who has posted it doesn’t seem to be affiliated with them, as far as I can tell. I did look and couldn’t find this track on the Really Slow Motion Soundcloud feed, which is why I posted this version.

This morning I happened across an arrangement of a fantastic piece of music from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack.

I always like when an artist pays homage to something which has directly influenced them and Matt Baker says the Conan soundtrack is one of his favourites. He went on to say;

“If you are familiar with some of my other compositions you will see how much the structure and style of this track has influenced me.”

This particular piece of music is in itself a sweeping statement of the film’s storyline, incorporating so many different elements of character. I have to say that the soundtrack to this film has always inspired me. My husband and I have always loved this music which adds another level of enjoyment to the film.

Having discovered the EpicMusicVN feed on Soundcloud, today my Sunday Sound is Asylum by Christopher Kus with the amazing vocals by Monika Emat. It’s from the album Pulsar and has a really modern style to it. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I do.

I randomly came across this magical piece of music the other day, which is a collaboration between Julie Elven and Ivan Torrent. The composing talents of Ivan merge with the ethereal vocals of Julie to create a truly sublime piece of music. I hope you agree.
